Draw on your MacBook trackpad, online
Trackpad Draw turns a MacBook trackpad into a pressure-sensitive drawing pad. Press with one finger to draw. Press harder for a thicker line, or switch modes and press harder for a darker line. It is free, runs in the browser, and uploads nothing.
How to use it
Open trackpaddraw.com in Safari on a Mac.
Press the trackpad and move your finger. A light click draws a thin line.
Press harder while moving to make the line thicker or darker.
Pick a color, adjust Size and Opacity, then Save to download a PNG.
Frequently asked questions
Can you draw with a MacBook trackpad?
Yes. Every MacBook since 2015 and the Magic Trackpad 2 and later have a pressure-sensitive Force Touch trackpad. Trackpad Draw reads that pressure in Safari.
Why does pressure only work in Safari?
Safari is the only browser that passes trackpad pressure to web pages. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge report a plain click, so they draw with a fixed line weight.
Does it work with the Apple Magic Trackpad?
Yes, the Magic Trackpad 2 and newer support Force Touch on any Mac.
Where do my drawings go?
Nowhere. Everything runs on your Mac. Save downloads a PNG.
Can I draw in Photoshop with the trackpad?
Not with this tool. Trackpad Draw is a standalone canvas. For drawing inside other apps, a native utility such as Inklet maps the trackpad to the screen.
